Summary

Like my previous position in Germany, I act as the sales plan lead for the North American region (the US, Canada, and Mexico). Responsible for providing the sales teams with the plan guidelines, market analysis, economic analysis, and schedule definition. Act as the window person between the North American and the global sales planning department from our headquarters in Japan. In charge of sales planning system preparation & administration, control of the sales data input, facilitating communication between the sales teams and manufacturing facilities, and consolidating and reporting the sales forecast to top management.

In charge of preparing and explaining our monthly sales report (Actual vs. Planned) and the market and industry situation to top management. Another part of the role is the preparation of multiple ad-hoc reports and support to different stakeholders on sales results, sales forecast, market & economic conditions, and other types of analysis.

Another facet of the role relates to the Business Intelligence tool. I am responsible for developing and maintaining multiple visualizations, dashboards, ETLs, part of the tool’s administration, and support/training people for self-service BI initiatives. I am part of the DENSO North America BI council and one of the leads for the Sales & Marketing division, acting as a sponsor and subject matter expert for BI.

Highlights

  • Improved efficiency of about 90% for the data preparation process required to upload sales results to the global system using R
  • Implemented the standard sales variance tool in an interactive dashboard reducing the time and complexity for sales users to do the calculation in a traditional way
  • Developed and implemented the ETL process to automate the actual vs. planned North America sales report enabling the development of further dashboards
  • Supported the accounts and receivable department in multiple data automation processes and ETL to leverage reporting from a BI tool
  • Used R to improve the accuracy and reduce turnaround time across multiple standard processes and reports
  • Wrote some complex queries to bring data to the BI tool enabling the account and receivable department to move away from some manual Excel reports
  • Automated and improved the data collection process for crucial industry indicators and further developed an ETL that cohesively combines them to use across multiple dashboards

Summary

As part of my primary responsibilities, I was in charge of preparing the economic analysis of the largest European economies and evaluating and forecasting vehicle sales and production of the major automotive markets in Europe for top management and sales teams.

In addition, I led the sales planning activities across our European offices in Germany, Italy, France, Belgium, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and Turkey. The critical activities included; schedule definition, acting as the window person between the sales teams and the global sales planning department from our headquarters in Japan, sales planning system preparation, control of the sales data input to the system, facilitating communication between the sales teams and manufacturing facilities about the plan, and consolidation and reporting of our sales forecast to top management.

Elaboration and support for multiple reports such as cost of sales, sales forecast, actual sales vs. planned, and many other ad-hoc reports for stakeholders and top management.

Highlights

  • I have successfully automated calculations, classification, and data wrangling for various reports using R.
  • Designed the concept and process to use Power BI as the business intelligence tool primarily, but not limited to, the sales and vehicle plan.

Working Student - (Sales Planning)​​ | March 2017 - July 2017

Summary

Working in the European Sales Planning department, I have supported the team with sales reporting (expansion and turnover) and sales planning activities (such as coordination and forecasting). Within these core areas, I assisted with preparing the European market research on vehicle sales and production and the economic analysis of the major automotive markets in Europe.
Another major part of the job was to improve current reports (and create new ones) by enhancing the data collection, transformation, and storage. I successfully automated different reports up to 100%, generating time savings of around 85% and a significant increase in accuracy.

Service Delivery Intern | August 2016 - February 2017

Summary

I worked with the Service Delivery team on a project related to a global migration across multiple systems. While part of the responsibilities included supporting various team members with different topics within IT service delivery projects, I specifically collaborated to design a Proof of Concept for the voice and fax services analytics.
This project included data exploration, creating a data-driven business case, and the setup of the final product design using Tableau as a BI platform.

Athletics Administrative Clerk | August 2015 - January 2016

Summary

Supported the athletics director in organizing different sports tournaments and various administrative tasks. I managed and coordinated the after-school sports activities, from signup and scheduling to ensure all facilities and materials were available and in good condition.

Importations Responsible | October 2013 - December 2014

Summary

Solely focused on imports of raw material and finished goods for the pharmaceutical industry, I have fulfilled an average of 60 monthly purchase orders to international suppliers/brokers across 23 different countries across South America, North America, Europe, and Asia.

I was in charge of preparing the required documentation for the purchase, up to the final delivery at the warehouse. This preparation included documentation for customs, government, and health authorities concerning pharmaceutical goods and raw materials for the industry, controlled substances permits, and the quality of the goods.

Another aspect of the job was coordinating the transport of the goods based on its INCOTERMS. Transport arrangements included local and international shipping companies through air, land, and sea; in some cases, the cargo needed to be refrigerated.

Consolidated and summarized the merchandise and raw material cost from the order to the delivery into our warehouses for the finance and accounting departments.

Summary

Acted as a translator (English/Spanish), guide, and expedition support for multi-day hikes across the Bolivian Andes, ensuring the group was safe and comfortable during their trip.

Procurement Lead​ | September 2012 - April 2013

Summary

Responsible for fulfilling purchasing orders for materials used for billboards, banners, signs, trade fair displays, promotional/display ilands, etc., ensuring the warehouse stocks were adequate for standard and upcoming projects usage.
The role included negotiating payment terms, delivery/pickup conditions, and sourcing new materials/suppliers to ensure the best price/quality materials.

Assistant Spanish Teacher​ | June 2012 - July 2012

Summary

During this summer job at the Rassias Center, I have taught and assisted the lead Spanish teacher at the Accelerated Language Program (ALPs) to adults. The job consisted of leading multiple speaking drills where students could immerse themselves in the language and support grammar-related assignments.

Summary

As part of a general work training plan in a pharmaceutical company, I rotated across different company areas such as sales, marketing, finance, purchases, human resources, and IT. Each rotation was two weeks long on which I had a specific task/project guided by a mentor on the area.
